What was Kitchen Kabaret?

Kitchen Kabaret was an musical animatronic show in The Land Pavilion from 1982-1994.

Ride Through

"Get Rid of the Sadness at Meal Time" by Bonnie Appetite and the Kitchen Krackpots - The Kitchen Krackpots band (containers of ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, etc.) played a lively ragtime beginning, as Bonnie came back, now dressed as a showgirl, to say "Thank you all for coming to (her) kitchen." The Kitchen Krackpots came up from the floor and appeared again at the end of the show. These animated figures were the first food items to come to life. The only one that didn't have a face like a farmer was the mustard jar.

"The Stars of the Milky Way" is a show where Mr. Dairy Goods, a singing milk carton, introduces three dairy products (Miss Cheese, Miss Yogurt, and Miss Ice Cream) in a 1930s style. Each dairy product performs a short act, and fog comes out of the freezer when they appear.

The Cereal Sisters (Oats, Rice, and Corn) sang a funny version of "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" like The Andrews Sisters, with a bread slice playing a bugle. The bread slice wore glasses and appeared when a kitchen cabinet was opened. They performed again in the Kabaret Finale.

"Meat Ditties" by Hamm & Eggz - Hamm & Eggz was a funny show about The Meat Group Can Help You Keep Strong, where Mr. Hamm and Mr. Eggz told jokes and sang short songs. At the end, Mr. Hamm got mad because Mr. Eggz told silly jokes and decided to leave the group to join another protein group. In the end, their arguing became too much and they had to go into the oven to avoid getting too upset. There were also funny things that happened in this part of the show. Mr. Eggz's bow tie moved when he laughed, and at the end of their scenes, smoke surrounded them to hide them moving underground.

The song "Veggie, Veggie, Fruit, Fruit" by The Colander Combo and The Fiesta Fruit has a Latin vibe with soft lighting. The veggies (like broccoli, tomatoes, and bananas) start chanting "Veggie-Veggie-Fruit-Fruit! Veggie-Veggie-Fruit-Fruit!" Then, Bonnie Appetite, dressed like Carmen Miranda and sitting on a moon, sings "I just have to say that my singing friends are...delicious!" There's also a funny part where a broccoli says "Cha cha cha!" and his glasses fall off, but he quickly puts them back on.

"Kabaret Finale" by Bonnie Appetite and the cast - Bonnie Appetite and the cast sang a mix of all their songs. Then they all came back on stage, and Bonnie said goodbye before the curtains with the Kraft logo closed.

Why did the Ride Close?

It was closed to make room for Food Rocks. A similar musical animatronic show about nutrition. However that ride was later closed for Soarin. A clone ride from Disney California Adventure.
