Food Rocks was a musical stage animatronic show that was used to be at Epcot
in Disneyworld from 1994 to 2004. The attraction was in The Land Pavillion
and teached about good nutrition.
With a theme of "benefit concert for healthy nutrition," the show was presented by real-life rapper Tone Loc as Fūd Wrapper.
But the band Excess, a junk food heavy metal group that hates health, kept stopping the show.
However, The Excess lose their power. Wrapper cheered, "No power? You guys have been unplugged!
There's plenty of foods out there that are good to eat, but remember, always eat in moderation."
The audio-animatronic characters represented food items with human characteristics.
The music drew inspiration from popular songs by renowned artists, with lyrics modified to align with the theme of nutrition.
For example, "the peach boys," singing "good nutrition," was based on the Beach Boys' song "Good Vibrations."
Five of these acts featured the original voices of the parodied musicians themselves: Tone Loc, Neil Sedaka, Little Richard, The Pointer Sisters, and Chubby Checker.
A teacher was observed teaching her students about a seal. A restaurant submerged in the water is then displayed.
The only character that was not an animatronic was "Chubby Cheddar," who appeared as a silhouetted projection on the wall of the center stage.
Many of the characters returned for the finale.
